Do you Gaga?

My 75 year old, Aunt Barbara, randomly sent me some pictures of her vacation home in Florida (she lives in upstate New York) recently.  In the pile of beautiful pictures was this gem. With the inscription on the back, "Lady Gaga.  She put on a great performance on the Today Show! 4/2011 N.Y. City"

First of all, I love the Today Show!  Second of all, I love NYC!  Thirdly, I wouldn't have minded seeing Lady Gaga, if it was for free.  I'm sure she probably did put on a great show.  I'm also a little bit curious about the guy in the back ground with the beard and guitar......just sayin'.

Gobsmacked!

A couple of nights ago, after watching the royal wedding, I went to bed with no particular thoughts.  However, apparently I was overwhelmed with all of the television coverage of the royal event because every time I woke up throughout the night, which was often, a strange word came to mind.  Like a song that just plays over and over in your head.  The word was:

Gobsmacked !

Really.

I hadn't heard it at all during any of the commentaries on TV but somehow, my mind went to it, constantly while I tried to sleep. 

The definition is:  Gobsmacked combines the northern English and Scottish slang term gob, mouth, with the verb smack. It suggests the speaker is utterly astonished or astounded. It’s much stronger than just being surprised; it’s used for something that leaves you speechless, or otherwise stops you dead in your tracks. It suggests that something is as surprising as being suddenly hit in the face.

Where did I come up with English slang?  No one knows.  But I do know that I will definitely try to apply this new word in my English language 'cause it came to me in my dreams.... a l l  n i g h t  l o n g.

should the turbulence be too much for ones stomach.

I didn't get a lot of turbulence on this particular flight to

San Francisco,

but I did get to ride with the entire band

back when I was 16 years old!

Talk about a thrill!

The band was in

First Class.

I wasn't.

I knew this would be a once in lifetime opportunity so,

I walked up to

First Class with my

barf bag and asked

Steve Perry

for his autograph.

He said, "Do you have a pen, sweetheart?"

"Ahh," I looked around to the band members and asked,

"Can I borrow a pen?"

One of the members handed me one.

I got my autograph.

Not only did I get to fly with them

but they also went to the

baggage claim and waited for their luggage.

I was thrilled!

I had been to their concert in

Phoenix

the night before where it was sold out for

three performances.

Now here I was waiting with them at the

luggage carousel.

How lucky can a girl get?
