Family pictures

You would think family pictures would be easy by my kids' ages. Not so. Cole, my 16 year old was difficult!!

Rick and the Statue of Liberty.

This was the first meal at Juniors that Rick and I had. Our appetizer was what you see. Pickles, cabbage, beets and onions. Ummm. Their cheese cake was the best I've ever had in my life!

Finally, my life's dream to go to the Today Show. Wouldn't you know it, there was a driving rain with wild winds and it was cold. If you look closely, you can see Lenny - a daily visitor of the Today Show. (Only dorks like me know his name.) He's the one about in the middle of the picture, holding an umbrella with a black jacket vest on and sun glasses. I've seen him for years on TV and now I've seen him live.

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

Well today is Tuesday, September 9, 2008, and I am writing about nothing, kind of like the old Seinfield shows. Has anyone ever wondered about time and how weird it is? Doesn't it seem like we were really young and stupid just a little while ago, and yet, it's taken forever to get to this point? I'm the baby of 6 and have always felt that I was the youngest in a crowd. That's not so much the case now. I recently went to the doctor's for a check up and there was a young male assistant who was looking at my file and said, "Happy late birthday."

"Thanks." I said.

"Is it true that when you get older you don't care about your birthday so much anymore?"

"Yes."

Like a dagger in the heart, he viewed me as, "older." Wow, he considered me older. Funny, he didn't even realize his question mostly pounded me and was not as innocent as he truly meant it. Rather, it was an affirmation of the true facts, yes, I am older - but I'm not old yet!
